World war game 3
FromSoftware’s first pivot away from its Souls series, Bloodborne gave us yet more action-RPG fare, this time with a Lovecraftian twist. While adopting faster combat mechanics to great effect, the result is horrifyingly brilliant and exceedingly punishing, as per the devs’ reputation, set within a decaying world where blood itself is the setting of Yharnam’s main currency https://drying-machine.org/bonuses/. While its predecessors hardly shy from challenge, Bloodborne enforces a new level of vulnerability on its players by removing shields entirely, placing a new onus on parry mechanics, and pitting them against some of the most terrifying and twisted bosses to grace the face of video games. From the Cleric Beast to Father Gascoine, Vicar Amelia and the One Reborn, Bloodborne’s tormented abominations underline what makes this PS4 exclusive so special.
Dead Space 2 is the perfect example of a sequel done right. Because everything that the original game did well in 2008 – it was fast, frantic, sometimes disgusting and always super-violent – Dead Space 2 dialed up several notches a few years later. It’s been 10 years since the arrival of Visceral Games’ second entry to the series, and yet few games have captured the claustrophobia of horror with such skill, timing, and finesse since. Dead Space 2 and its predecessor wear their influences on their blood-soaked sleeves, not least those derived from Resident Evil 4, but do so in all the right ways. It’s a mark of deference. Here’s what’s come before; and here’s where we’re taking you now. Dead Space 2 is the pinnacle of action horror, and will undoubtedly hold its own among the highest echelons of the genre in another 10 years from now.
The Oregon Trail is exactly what it sounds like, placing players in the shoes of a 19th-century pioneer traveling on the Oregon Trail. Unforgiving but interesting, many players became intimately familiar with the harsh realities facing people in that time period, such as dying from dysentery. Newer versions of The Oregon Trail have also acknowledged problematic depictions of Native Americans, cleaning up a dated perception and making the game much more accessible today.
Game 5 world series 2024
Against Cole, the Dodgers will roll out the same nine players they did in Game 1 and have throughout most of the World Series. The only change for Game 5 is in the bottom third of the lineup, where Tommy Edman has been bumped up to seventh and is followed by Will Smith and Gavin Lux.
• Walker Buehler pitched the ninth, recording his first MLB save, regular season or postseason. His only other professional save was Aug. 13, 2017, for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Alex Verdugo and Max Muncy were in his lineup that day. He’d go on to make his MLB debut on Sept. 7. He had one save in college at Vanderbilt, as a freshman on May 11, 2013.
• Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit the fifth set of back-to-back homers in Yankees World Series history in the first inning of Game 5. They joined 1977 Game 5 Thurman Munson and Reggie Jackson, 1964 Game 6 Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, 1932 Game 3 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and 1928 Game 4 Ruth and Gehrig. The Yankees are the first team in World Series history to hit multiple home runs in the first inning of a game when facing elimination. With the Dodgers in Game 2, this was the first time there were multiple sets of back-to-back home runs in a single World Series.
Cole struck out Lux and Ohtani to move one step from escaping, but Cole’s steps failed him: Betts hit a cue ball to first base, where Rizzo fielded and Cole did not cover quickly enough, Betts reaching and a run scoring.
Several players on this year’s Dodgers team were also on the World Series team in 2020, including Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Kiké Hernández and Walker Buehler. Freeman won a title with the Atlanta Braves in 2021.
Giancarlo Stanton flew out to right before Anthony Rizzo struck out swinging to end the inning. That’s a double whammy for New York, which not only didn’t score but will need the bottom of the order to get the rally started next inning.
Game 2 world series
Buehler has made two postseason starts for the Dodgers this fall, both on the road. He took a loss in San Diego on Oct. 8 after giving up six runs in the second inning of his five-inning start, but he rebounded to throw four scoreless innings with six strikeouts against the Mets in Game 3 of the NLCS on Oct. 16.
Rodón allowed 31 homers during the regular season, the second most in baseball, and 21 of the 31 came off his fastball. That was the second-most homers off any pitch type in MLB (Shota Imanaga allowed 22 homers on his fastball). In Game 2, the Dodgers hit all three homers off Rodón’s fastball. He threw 38 heaters and the Dodgers swung and missed once. They were on him.
The Yankees pushed a run across to cut the deficit to 4-2, though the Dodgers were able to escape the inning when Treinen struck out Anthony Volpe, and Alex Vesia got Jose Trevino to fly out to center to end the game. Trevino pinch-hit for the lefty swinging Austin Wells, who was 0 for 3 in the game.
The Dodgers hope to get similar length from Game 2 starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto that they got from Jack Flaherty, who pitched into the sixth in the opener. There’s an off-day after Game 2, but with a bullpen day looming in the middle of the Series, the Dodgers don’t want to overexpose their relievers.
An efficient inning by Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Despite a walk to Anthony Rizzo, he got Jazz Chisholm, Austin Wells and Anthony Rizzo out on nine combined pitches to keep the game scoreless.
